A D H D

These letters stand for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and it is a term so broad that it is often categorised into 3 different subtypes so that us little Aliens feel a little more at home with our unique range of specifics. I was very recently diagnosed and after hours of research, I do consider myself to be a Type-C Alien.

Although this blog is going to touch on most parts of my life and come across as a bit of a story, this is just me figuring out cause & effect I guess.

Since the diagnosis my thoughts have been absolutely scattered so I figured that if I was to catch them and pin them down, this could be my closure. I also want this to hopefully be insightful for others as I really never had a clue that this could be behind everything and that’s because I simply didn’t know anything about it. Even now, ADHD is very much stereotyped.. but there’s so much more to it than you’d realise 🤍

Here’s the very basics for you :) it’s not 100% accurate because we’re all unique but it’s a start!!.....

ADHD-C (Combined)
People with combined-type ADHD generally tend to demonstrate six or more symptoms of inattention and six or more symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity.

Those of us with this type of ADHD struggle with Attention and Distractibility. We may be forgetful, sensitive, distracted, or overwhelmed by hectic situations.

As well as this, we also struggle with Hyperactivity and Impulsivity. We may feel restless, talkative, impatient, and have strong emotions. But also driven, curious, creative, with lots on the go.
